HOMO SARGASSUM

HOMO SARGASSUM is an experimental art film and exhibition inviting over 30 Caribbean artists, scientists, scholars, and bio-tech experts to reflect on the environmental, anthropological, and public health impacts of the SARGASSUM seaweed on coastal communities and ecosystems in Caribbean colonial and postcolonial contexts.

The project was conceived and written by Vanessa Selk, founding art director of the TOUT-MONDE Art FOUNDATION, and Louisa Marajo, a multimedia artist based between Paris and Martinique. The film was produced by the TOUT-MONDE Art FOUNDATION and Loxo Studios in Ivory Coast. The short film presented on this webpage is an introduction to the full project and to the feature documentary art film.
