Amanda Bradley, Partnerships & Programs Director

Join us in welcoming Amanda Bradley, our new Partnerships & Programs Director! Hailing from Belize, she splits her time between Cayo (Belize) and Miami. Amanda is an artist and curator who explores place and landscape as a means to connect and understand identity, belonging, histories, and relationships. Over the last ten years she has worked alongside various arts institutions crafting engaging, impactful programs. Her arrival marks an exciting chapter for us!

Artist Spotlight: Junior Sealy 🇧🇧

We continue shining a light on the artists exhibiting in our upcoming exhibition Fracture/Repair, opens next month in Vancouver, Canada at ArtSpeak Gallery.

Junior Sealy is a dynamic multidisciplinary artist hailing from Barbados who weaves the vibrant energy of Caribbean culture with the boldness of city life. Having lived in hubs like Toronto, London, and Berlin, Junior masterfully blends his heritage with a contemporary global perspective.

Currently based in Barbados, Junior is making waves in Photography, Architecture, and other artistic mediums where he has been recognized on a global level for each of them respectively. At the heart of his art lies a profound centering of blackness, Caribbean culture, and a celebration of intrinsic beauty and self-love. With series like “Rasta Regality” and “Made in Barbados”, Junior continue to showcase the beauty that he sees daily through his lens.

Archive: The Yelaine Rodriguez Collection

FORGOTTEN LANDS Vol 05 alum Yelaine Rodriguez recently archived a collection of her works to JSTOR. The Yelaine Rodriguez Collection offers 34 images of flyers, feature articles, photographs, exhibition programs, and a bibliography of her scholarly work. Rodriguez donated these materials to make her growing and existing archive available to researchers, scholars, and the public. Among the works are images Mal De Ojo: Point B of The Door of No Return (Side A) and Mal De Ojo: Point B of The Door of No Return (Side B) from Vol 05. You can access the entire collection here.

Native Diver by Simon Benjamin on view at Swivel Gallery

Jamaican multidisciplinary artist and filmmaker Simon Benjamin's solo exhibition, Native Diver is currently on view at Swivel Gallery in Brooklyn, New York until March 23, 2024. The exhibition presents a new collection of paintings, sculptures, and collages that expand on the artist's ongoing exploration of the impact of both visible and invisible histories on current realities.
