February 2024

A monthly look at our events, artist opportunities, and more.

The Open Call for Volume 06 dropped two weeks ago! In this month’s newsletter we give you another look at Volume 06, spotlight artists Ricardo Miguel Hernandez and Andrew Jackson from our Vancouver show with ArtSpeak, and share some news from our FL Community.

For our forthcoming Volume 06, the open call is inspired by what the late Cuban novelist, essayist, and short story writer Antonio Benítez-Rojo’s termed the ‘supersyncretic’ culture of the Caribbean – a rich tapestry of ever-evolving interwoven traditions and expressions. This leads us to ask what defines the ‘Neo-Carib’? What does our identity look like today, and where is it going?
