The wait is over, Volume 06: Neo-Carib Visions drops this weekend! We’re celebrating this milestone from 3 PM - 6 PM at The Brooklyn Museum Shop.

Be among the first to see and feel the new volume, meet some of its incredible Caribbean contributors, and kick off the FORGOTTEN LANDS month-long pop-up with us inside the museum’s new gift shop.

Nou Akoma Nou Sinèrji Haitian Dominican Transnational Film Festival

Wednesday, October 9 - Saturday, October 12

Dominicans Love Haitians Movement is hosting its 2nd Annual Nou Akoma Nou Sinèrji (We Heart We Synergy) Haitian Dominican Transnational Film Festival (NOU) this October. NOU celebrates the global Haitian and Dominican diasporas, exploring shared histories and countering misinformation while fostering unity and human rights. It features films and art from emerging and established professionals of the Haitian and Dominican African diasporas, highlighting diverse experiences and celebrating transnational connections.

The festival’s four days of programming at St. Francis College in Brooklyn, NY will promote cultural diversity through film (e.g., drama, documentary, experimental, short films), audio/podcast, visual art, and panel discussions with filmmakers, scholars, and community members.
